I thought id try out both these subs in the same box off the same amp to see the difference. Despite the alpine being able to take more abuse, the MS is clearly the better built sub, its excursion is unbelievabley clean!

Here's a list of my set-up and my settings- Alpine CDA-9886 head unit - subwoofer volume (15/15) - bass (7/7) - volume (24-35) - treble (1/7) - loudness (off) 12" Alpine Type X Dual 4 Ohm Subwoofer Alpine PDX 1.1000 watt amplifier - rated at 1100 watts RMS on birth certificate Gain is set at 90% Subsonic filter is on 15 hertz Low pass filter is on 55 hertz Tsunami 2 farad capacitor Zen custom enclosures box tuned to 32 hertz - 2.5 cubic feet after subwoofer displacement Rockford Fosgate 4 gauge wire kit and 100 amp fuse If I missed anything let me know, I'll be sure to get back to you. If anyone has any settings recommendations for my amplifier please let me know, any input would be appreciated as I am somewhat new in the car audio world, for my forte is in firearm ballistics.
